ABOUT ME

CHELSEA MARIE

A.K.A.

   LOTUS BLISS

Chelsea is a 500-hour E-RYT yoga & movement educator and sound bath facilitator. She uses both vinyasa and embodied movement to heighten awareness and tap into sensation. Her classes are a dance of self-exploration and a celebration of balance. You can expect a blend of slow, mindful movement with playful transitions, inviting each moment to merge effortlessly into the next. As a certified sound bath facilitator, she integrates sound vibrations with pranayama to engage the nervous system and bring students into deeper states of consciousness.

For Chelsea, movement and sound are forms of meditation that allow concepts of yogic philosophy to become lived, felt experiences. Every moment spent on the mat is just an invitation to explore who you truly are beyond the roles and responsibilities. It is the practice of surrender so that you can return to your true nature.

YOGA

No one’s life path looks the same; therefore, no one’s yoga practice will look the same. Committing to the journey is the first step in cultivating a thriving yoga practice. The good news is, the more consistency you create by committing to yourself, the more ease you will experience in your day-to-day life. Whether you are focusing on your own form of movement, self-study through spiritual pursuits, tapping into meditation, or all of the above, you were never meant to take the journey alone. How yoga can be portrayed online and in the media can be intimidating, and quite frankly, misleading. I am here to assure you, yoga is far more than the shapes you make with your body. It is not a workout nor a stretch. Yoga is an ancient practice of self-exploration, and it is for everyone.

The obstacles you encounter while learning new techniques (on the mat and in life altogether) are a vital part of your growth. They exist so that you can connect with yourself on deeper levels and strengthen your relationship with yourself. Your yoga practice can act as the bridge between discomfort and solace. And the best part? It is something that you create for yourself. But that doesn’t mean you can’t receive support along the way!

If you have been contemplating yoga but don’t know where to start or lack the technique to stay consistent, I am here to help! If you’re a seasoned practitioner who shares my passion for Vedic philosophy and movement, let’s flow and grow together.

SOUND

What is a Sound Bath?

A sound bath is a form of meditation that invites deep rest and relaxation, activating the parasympathetic nervous system and giving the body + mind a chance to recover from frequent fight-or-flight states. Finding a comfortable position, often on your back, with eyes closed or a soft gaze, the body absorbs the vibrations created from different instruments and frequencies set with intention.

Cymatics is the study of wave phenomena and the visual representation of sound. It can be demonstrated by the physical movement of water caused by vibrations from certain sounds. Because our bodies are made up of 60% water, you can also think of a sound bath as a cellular massage.

Some common instruments include quartz crystal singing bowls, bamboo chimes, ocean drums, tingshas, etc.

Certain singing bowls, depending on the note, are associated with specific energy centers within the body (known as chakras).

Different notes, sounds, and instruments can evoke specific emotions, mental images, thoughts, or physical sensations in the body. Remaining open to what comes up is a key component of savoring the sound bath journey.
