Vinyasa Yoga is an active breath to movement practice that strengthens both body and mind while bringing awareness to various breathing techniques, muscle engagements & elasticity, mobility, balance, and fluid transitions in and out of poses.
This style of yoga offers lots of room for creativity and intuitive movement. Any level yogi can participate in Vinyasa Yoga and all poses can be modified so that the experience is accessible no matter where you are in your yoga journey. Props are also encouraged in this practice.
Traditional Yin Yoga incorporates a set of passive poses held for 3 - 5 minutes at a time with the support of props and a focus on the breath.
With the absence of movement and muscle engagement, this style helps to slow down the mind + body, improve flexibility, and increase a state of calm. The Yin energy represents softness, stillness, and an inward focus. Open and accessible to all levels!
Pranayama is the performance of various breathing techniques that support a practice of meditation and mindfulness.
Pranayama can be done in stillness at the start or end of a yoga class or it can be weaved throughout. Different techniques are more suited for different intentions and environments but they all help you connect deeper to the breath and improve focus within the body + mind.
